Donaldson began uploading videos on YouTube in early 2012 at the age of 13, under the name "MrBeast6000"; his early content included everything from "Let's Plays to "videos that estimated the wealth of other YouTubers." He became famous in the year 2017 after his "Counting To 100,000" video racked up tens to thousands of views in just days. Donaldson hired many of his former classmates as helpers to run his growing channel. MrBeast is Donaldson's primary YouTube channel with over 100 million subscribers, was established in 2022.
